At the Stone Table (At the Currency) - Old Town Square 18/550, Old Town
Old Town Square 18/550, Old Town
Originally a Romanesque house, rebuilt several times in Gothic style and also after 1724 when its valuable High Baroque façade was made. In the basement two floors of the original Gothic house with cross vaults were preserved. The façade is decorated by a fresco of St. John Almsman in a stucco frame. Fanta sisters used to organize literary salons in this house from 1907, also attended by F. Kafka among others; in 1910-11 even A. Einstein held lectures there during his Prague stay.
